As a founder of New Generation Doo Wop Soul Records, Eddie Floyd's resume speaks for itself, with over 50 years in the music industry cranking out tunes all over the world as a writer, producer and performer. His career has taken him to many places like: Detroit,MI where he in 1955, he was a founding member of the soul group The Falcons who had the R&B hit “You're So Fine” in 1959 on the Lupine Records Label which was founded by his uncle Robert West; Washington, D.C. where he worked with his friend Al Bell and co-founded the Safice Production Company; Memphis,Tennessee where he rose to world fame as a writer-producer-performer at Stax Records in the 60's and 70's with well known hits such as Wilson Pickett's "634-5789" (written by Eddie Floyd) and his own world renowned #1 Hit "Knock on Wood" (co-written by Eddie Floyd and Steve Cropper); In Montgomery, AL where Eddie lives today he has recorded for Malaco and Mercury labels amongst others and continues to tour the world "Knocking on Wood" and telling audiences to "Raising Your Hands" with the Blues Brothers Band, The Rhythm Kings, and others stages in festivals and galas everywhere.
November 16,2011, is the offical releasse date of
New Generation Doo Wop Soul Records' first tunes. Both are written and performed by Eddie Floyd himself:"
I wish to All (A Merry Christmas)" and "I'll be Your Santa Claus." The remainder of Eddie's Christmas Album will be released in 2012, but you can get these first two songs now for free on the Free Downloads Page .
